Robotic systems excel at precision and repeatability but still lack the level of cognition required to deal with complex operations that involve the handing of parts with behavior that is difficult to model(flexible parts) or manipulate (small parts or assembly of components into tight or hard to reach places).

EIT-Manufacturing welding pilot intends to demonstrate the potential and limitations of virtual and augmentedreality as a tool to support training in skills required by the manufacturing industry. The pilot was implemented around the welding training use case due to the lack of skilled professionals in this field.
